The impact of it is a concern for everyone. It’s a rapidly changing situation but Jones Harris will do what we can to point you towards support for business through coronavirus.

Support for Business through Coronavirus

We’ll keep you regularly updated, but here is the current guidance.

Concerned about paying your Tax

HMRC have launched a Helpline to help businesses or self-employed individuals who are concerned about not being able to pay their tax due to coronavirus (Covid-19).

If you have any concerns ring HMRC on 0800 0159 559

  • this number is in addition to other HMRC numbers
  • 2,000 experienced call handlers are available to speak to you
  • available Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday 8am to 4pm. (The helpline will not be available on Bank Holidays)

Unable to pay your Tax

For those unable to pay due to coronavirus, HMRC will discuss your specific circumstances to explore:

  • Agreeing an instalment arrangement
  • Suspending debt collection proceedings
  • Cancelling penalties and interest where you have administrative difficulties contacting or paying HMRC

At Jones Harris Ltd

We are reviewing the situation daily and have clear internal measures in place to ensure minimal business disruption. You may find the following information helpful.

The office is remaining open at this point although we understand that many clients will prefer not to visit us in person.

If you are not displaying any symptoms of coronavirus and call into the office, please maintain the recommended distance from staff. Please also use the hand sanitiser provided as you arrive and leave.

Please do not be offended if we don’t shake hands!

We are contactable by phone and or email however if any staff are unable to work, you will be diverted to one of their colleagues.

Our free Wednesday Messenger Service is continuing at the current time. If you would like books collected or dropped off, please ring and make arrangements with the staff in Reception. They will discuss with you how books can be collected and left securely but with minimal contact.

Our investment in technology enable us to provide remote communication. If required, we can contact you via face to face software, telephone or email, alternatively documents can be uploaded via the VC Portal.

We are reviewing our social media communications so that we can keep you updated more readily.
