Is your business ready for changes to our relationship with the EU? Brexit has faded from the limelight because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but it’s very much happening.
Ready for our Changes to our Relationship with the EU?
There will be guaranteed changes from 1 January for businesses. The UK is leaving the EU single market and customs union, and the end of the transition period will affect citizens, businesses, as well as travel to and from the EU.
You might be surprised how many connections you have with suppliers and customers on the continent. If you haven’t already, start to prepare now, with the checker tool on the GOV.UK website.
Get Ready for 1 January 2021
There are new rules for businesses and for citizens from 1 January 2021. The online checker tool walks you through a series of questions to determine what you should do to get ready.
Answer a few questions to get a personalised list of actions. They include questions about your citizenship, business and where you intend to go on holiday. At the end of the questions it tells you what, if anything you need to do.
You can then choose to create a new GOV.UK account in order to receive updates about any actions which you may need to take.
GOV.UK accounts are a trial. They’re a first step towards a GOV.UK that is more tailored to you and your circumstances. At the moment, you can only use your account with the UK transition checker.
Find out what you need to do by visiting www.gov.uk/transition and using the checker tool.
