All businesses need a bit of fresh perspective from time to time. The Centre for Global Eco-Innovation at Lancaster University can support your business to focus on new processes, services or technologies – all with an environmental focus.
The Centre for Global Eco-Innovation is a national award winning initiative, which undertakes research and development with a business focus £5 million worth of research opportunities are on offer for Lancashire SMEs. The funding, support and access to innovation is designed to enable you to develop your business and make the transition to a lower carbon economy.
Range of support available
You can access the programme in a range of different ways.
Support includes short-term feasibility studies through to long-term technical R&D projects of up to one year in duration. Support is offered with project partners Liverpool John Moores University and the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. The areas which can be supported include:
- Energy
- Resource Efficiency
- Waste
- Water
- Food security and plant science
- Biodiversity
Networking, peer support and access to experts
In addition, the Innovation Forum is a six month programme run by the Lancaster University Management School.
The Innovation Forum provides the opportunity for Lancashire SMEs to connect with like-minded businesses to realise the competitive advantages of rethinking business processes and embracing eco-innovation.
Access is also provided to business experts and leading academics in order to explore emerging technologies and processes in a variety of sectors.
Business development tools are used to create a dynamic business model which fits the UK Clean Growth Strategy.
