Charities are more important than ever right now, but not being able to hold events is making a serious dent in their income. But the team here at Jones Harris has carried on with their usual festive fundraising this year.
You might remember that we’ve held Christmas Jumper Day a few times in the past. It’s a festive fundraising event held each year by Save the Children, to help children here in the UK and around the world.
Despite the world being topsy-turvy right now, we still managed to raise a very respectable £174 for this worthwhile cause.
Another very popular fundraising event here on the Fylde Coast is the Trinity Hospice Brian House Santa Dash.
Of course all group events are off right now – and have been for some while. Nonetheless, receptionist Yvonne Crewe and her family still did the Santa Dash in December.
Determined to continue with the fundraiser for the children’s hospice Brian House, organisers made it a ‘virtual’ event. Not one where you raced online, but instead at a time and a place to suit you.
Decked out in the obligatory red Santa Dash uniform, Yvonne and her accomplices raised a very decent £660 for Trinity Hospice Brian House on Blackpool promenade in December.
