Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CBILS)

Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CBILS)

On 12 May 2020, the Chancellor confirmed that this scheme will be extended until 31 October 2020.

Claims will continue to be based on 80% of furloughed person’s salary – up to the £2,500 maximum – but with additional factors to be considered from 1 August 2020.

From this date, new flexibility will be introduced that will allow furloughed workers to resume part-time. When and if this happens, employers may be asked to contribute to the costs.

[Details of the way the scheme will work after 1 August are promised to follow as soon as possible. Information will be added as soon as it is published.]
