Cash Boost for T Level Placements

Did you know that you can get a cash boost for T Level Placements? Employers can claim a £1,000 cash boost for every T Level student you host on a high-quality industry placement. It’s part of a new incentive scheme launched in May 2021. The offer runs until July 2022.

T Levels are new technical qualifications, equivalent to three A Levels. Uniquely they combine classroom study with industry placements and have been developed with over 250 employers including Fujitsu and Amazon.

They’re a key part of the government’s reforms to revolutionise skills and technical education. T Levels will generate the skilled workforce that businesses need for the future while giving students the experience they need to progress into well-paid jobs, further study or an apprenticeship.

Cash Boost for T Level Placements

So where does your business come in?

The incentive fund offers a cash boost for T Level placements. Most employers have been impacted by the pandemic so they payment will help to ensure you can continue to host placements.

You can claim for up to 20 students for the available T Level subject areas until July 2022.

The role of Industry Placements

Industry placements form a key component of T Level courses. Students will spend at least 45 days (or 315 hours) with an employer.

The placements offer local businesses an excellent chance to nurture and build a skilled talent pipeline for the future, especially in the recovery from a pandemic. Students themselves gain vital hands-on experience and invaluable insight into the world of work. The aim is to set them up for success in the next steps of their career.

The first three T Levels in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction, Digital Production, Design and Development and Education and Childcare were introduced in September 2020. A further seven are available from 2021 in subjects including Healthcare, Science and Onsite Construction Subjects including Finance, Media, Broadcast and Production and Legal Services will be introduced from 2022 and 2023.

The fund complements the Employer Support Package already in place.
