Action Counters Terrorism – ACT for short. Everyone should act and report suspicious activity if you’ve seen or heard something that could potentially be related to terrorism. Trust your instincts. Your actions could save lives.
Being able to recognise the signs is something else altogether. So Wyre Council is holding two ‘Counter Terrorism ACT Awareness’ events for businesses across the borough.
Action Counters Terrorism – Awareness Training Events
The first event will be held on Monday 3 February from 4-6pm at Wyre Council Civic Centre.
And the second event at Marine Hall on Tuesday 11 February, beginning at 9.30am.
There will be a speaker from NaCTSO (National Counter Terrorism Security Office). They will give an insight into the ‘ACT Awareness Campaign for Businesses’. This campaign is aimed at increasing the resilience of business communities.
You will be provided with information on the current threat and be guided on what to do, should you find yourself involved in a serious incident.
Tips and information will also be provided about how to identify and anonymously report any suspicious activity.

Both events are free and last approximately 2 hours. However you will need a ticket for entry.
